The band’s music style, whose self-titled CD was produced by Marcelo Sussekind, is mainly radio pop-rock with reggae, soul and samba influences.
Baleia
Baleia
Baleia is one of those indecipherable bands. “Post-rock”, “progressive pop” and “post-MPB” were some of the styles attributed to them by musical critics, but the band explores both pop and experimentation. Quebra azul, its first album (2013), garnered praise from both public and critics. The track Motim was chosen to represent the new Brazilian music in the compilation New Sounds of Brazil released in Europe. Casa, the album’s first single, conquered the Spotify charts and became the 30th most shared song in the world in January 2016. The album Atlas, released in April 2016, has a heavier rock approach than the previous one.
